Building Bridges: Networked Learning through Professional Learning Communities
University of Catania and University of Malta
Aim of the webinar:
The aim of the webinar isto discuss the transformative potential of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) within and across schools as a means to tackle critical educational challenges and foster continuous professional growth. By fostering collaboration, PLCs empower teachers and school leaders to share resources, exchange innovative practices, and engage in collective problem-solving—enhancing both professional development and overall school improvement. With a focus on networked learning, this discussion highlights the significance of creating interconnected school communities within the same region or locality. These networks aim to promote equity, inclusion, and social justice by addressing systemic challenges such as resource disparities and social inequities while fostering sustainable, high-quality education.
This panel discussion will provide an engaging and interactive platform to explore how PLCs can drive sustainable educational change. By showcasing real-world examples from Malta and Italy, we will highlight how networked learning and professional collaboration contribute to equitable and high-quality education. Attendees will gain valuable knowledge and practical tools to enhance collaboration and leadership in their own schools and communities.
